process reengineering for passenger screening operations at Dublin Airport

Our consultants redesigned processes and layouts to enable Dublin Airport to increase the capacity and performance of its existing passenger security screening operation. Subsequently they trialled the recommended process and layout, which demonstrated a significant throughput increase without compromising security.

Methodology and Solution

Identified opportunities to optimise the existing passenger security screening process and increase capacity in this area at Dublin Airport.

Designed layouts, passenger flows, processes, job roles and work methods to realise improvement opportunities.

Demonstrated the effects of these strategies on the airport departure process.

As an extension to the above assignment, assessed the effects of new EU passenger security regulations on the new processes.

Delivered an efficient end-to-end process that encompassed queue structure and passenger flow through the boarding card check to the passenger security screening area and through the screening lane.
